All that shimmers....

is yummy, yum, yum! I think I have *just* discovered my latest addiction! Jill at Cardinal Colours has just taken delivery of lots and lots of delicious Cosmic Shimmer Mists, in all colours of the rainbow! I have never, ever tried these wonderful things before and I think I am hooked already! I have been spraying flowers, doilies, torn out sheets from books....even the kitchen sink!!!! Ok, so the sink was by accident....but boy oh boy it was pretty he!he!he!
so, here is my first attempt at a card using the mists!
It is much prettier and more shimmery/sparkly in the flesh.

I used a torn out book page, a chipboard butterfly and some stamps that I have had for ever from fancy pants.....gosh i think I am in love!

Have you played with them? If so have you blogged the things? I would love to see them if you have please.

Warmest wishes Anita..xxxx

Ooooooooh! Young man!!....and a VERY quick card.

Just HAD to share these pics of my darling man with you! Over Christmas with us being ill he decided it would be nice to have a break from shaving and let the stubble *be free*....well I am not normally a lover of stubble I have to say( unless its back to the 80's with the George Micheal designer look lol)....it prickles and makes my face sore( when he gives me a kiss....NOT when I grow it on my face I hasten to add!!!) anyway, after about 10 days he had quite a beard growth, so, jokingly I dared him to grow it for a month JUST to see what he would look like with a proper beard ;)
Well it grew....and grew and went from the harsh prickly to being quite soft a fluffy and I quite liked it( I rather like Gerard Butler( phwaor!!!) in the film '300' and liked to think that Dale was starting to resemble him a bit he!he!he!.....but I did draw the line at buying him a Spartan outfit lol. If you don't know what Gerard looked like in it google it....he is rather lush ;) ) Anyway, his *fluffle* started getting unkempt and out of control and he decided he had had enough......so along with a new haircut from moi off came the facial hair too. Gosh, I swear its taken 10 years off of him!! I feel like i could be dating his younger brother ( except he hasn't got one lol) So, begone the '300' look....cos I like my 'young man' :) i think I *may* need to do a layout about this.

One of my lovely Aunt's is staying with my Mum and Dad for a couple of days and it was her birthday on friday. I had originally made her a card using my Cosmic Shimmer mists....its my first proper attempt with them, but I think she is more of a 'clean' look type of card person......so I ended up making this one instead. Sorry the photos are not very good, they were taken last night and light in my kitchen isnt very good.

I used my Martha Stewart triple butterfly punch and CWC greeting, plus a few little crystals....I think this has to be THE cleanest card I have ever made....not a swipe of ink anywhere!!!

Right, well I best get off the internet for a bit I guess.....there is a whole pile of ironing with my name on it and I need to just finish off a scarf that I have made for my Sister.
Hope you all have a super Sunday

A quick card and some VERY yellow cakes!

Hello there :).
I felt the sudden urge to make a card last night.....for no particular occasion or reason....just to make LOL and this is what I ended up with.

I used some papers from the Country Companions 'Lover's Lane' collection...have you seen them? Soooo cute! I also used some Bazzill card and an image that was kindly given to me, I believe by Linda( thanks Hun) which I coloured with Promarkers. Various blossoms from my stash and it gave me chance to use my brand new fabby stamps from my lovely friend Zoe ( thank you my Lovely)

At the weekend, my little herbert Chloe, fancied some cupcakes. And it was a good excuse to use our new sprinkles that we had just got. I asked what colour icing she wanted and( being her fave colour) she said the BRIGHTEST YELLOW LOL, so that is what she got! the vanilla sponge inside is bright yellow too.....good job none of us bounce off the walls when we have food colouring eh ;)

And now just a quick reminder for you if you haven't had chance to play along this month with us over at Scrapology ...this is the fab double layout sketch we have worked from and you have until midnight on 5th Feb to join in.

The prize this month is a £15 voucher very kindly donated by Jill at Cardinal Colours( thank you so much Jill) and is for spending in her shop, either in person or online

So....what are you waiting for? Just think of that lovely stash shopping spree you could win.

Wishing you a lovely evening....

warmest wishes Anita..xxx

Be still, my beating heart!

You know sometimes a programme or series of programmes comes along and literally has you completely and utterly mesmerised....well....this one has me totally mesmerised!
Being Human Season 3 starts tonight on ITV3 and if you have not seen it before ( why not? you do NOT know what you have been missing lol) ....it is about 3 people who live together( well 4 now including Nina), who are a ghost, a vampire and a werewolf!

I really like all the characters, but I have to say that Mitchell the vampire, played by actor Aiden Turner (swoon swoon), is THE one that makes my blood pump twice as fast through my veins.

YUM!

YUM!

YUMMMMMM!!!!!

Be still, my beating heart!

Meaning:
Expression of excitement when seeing the object of one's romantic affections.

Originally used with the swooning earnestness of woman's poetry of the Romantic period. Now more often used ironically, about suitors who are indisputably unsuitable.

Origin:
'Beating heart' has long been used to denote breathless excitement.

Nuff said!! ;)
Have a lovely evening.....I know I will..xxx

A card for Good Luck

I spent a very lovely and exciting day yesterday with Jill at her new shop, Cardinal Colours in Polegate. It really was uplifting and we had lots of people come through the doors, some were regular crop/class ladies and friends and there were lots of members of the general public too. Lots and lots of positive comments which was really nice to hear ( and lots of coffee drinking too, eh Jill ;) )Jill ( and her hubby) have worked so hard to get this fabby shop ready and it was a real pleasure to spend time there with her.....oh yes....and the newpaper came too, so look out in the Sussex Express for us ( we had to get rather 'up close and personal' lol in the photo and I am hoping I haven't got too many chins in the photo....or broccolli or anything nasty inbetween my front teeth! Jill looked impeccable so she has no worries!

Anyway, here is a little card for Good Luck I made for Jill. She had a really lovely collection of good luck cards and they are all proudly displayed in the shop.

I used a piece of Bazzill Savannah for the card base, then just used some scraps of Scenic Route papers, a scrap of Pomegranate Bazzill for the butterflies and some Pink Paislee alpha stickers. The punches used were Woodware and Martha Stewart and I finished the card off with a few E-Line Prima pearls and some inky edges.

Scrapology - D is for Double Layout!

over on Scrapology our first challenge for 2011 was from the sketch of a smashing double layout created by a super scrapper named Jana Eubank, here is the sketch

And here is my layout using that sketch! I used some Basic Grey papers, American Crafts Thickers, Snowflake peel offs, Martha Stewart punches for the trellis border and also some of the snowflakes. I finished the page off with some pearl topped brads, some laser-cut snowflake mirror tile christmas tree decs and the word SNOW which was a glittery tree dec also....oh yes and lots and lots of icicle Stickles (don't ya just luuuuuurve Stickles!!)

The layout was about my early morning walks to work when we had all the snow and it was too bad to drive. Whereas i normally really do NOT like getting up early, I actually realised just HOW lucky I am....that time of the morning can be so beautiful and on these particular days it was stunning, the snow was so fresh and perfect....so, i may miss out on my sleep, but everyone else misses out on the peaceful tranquility and beauty that time of the morning can bring.

Why not pop along to the Scrapology blog and join in this months challenge. Our lovely Jill of Cardinal Colours has very kindly dontated a £15 voucher for her shop as the prize for this month! thank you so much Jill :)

Enjoy the rest of your weekend :), I am just going to make some cupcakes!

Lovely friends, cropping and colourful cupcakes!

Today has been our monthly crop at our much loved friend Jill's studio at Cardinal Colours
I just love our monthly crops, the group of girls that always come along are such lovely friends and we always have a giggle, a good old natter and its so inspiring to see what beautiful creations they all make. Its not just scrapping either, they are card makers too and today has also seen some stunning jewellery created and also some fab knitted items too.

Today was also a birthday celebration for these 2 lovely ladies below :)

Wendy and Liz are both celebrating their birthdays in the middle of this month so we gave them cards and pressies today and I made them some cupcakes instead of a raspberryoffee( after seeing the colours they would probably have preferred the raspberryoffee lol)

Here is Liz with her cupcake broken in half to see the colours inside....kind of a rainbow surprise ( or more like a drug induced 'trip' lol)

And here is Wendy, hers looks a bit like a target inside doesn't it LOL. check out her funky arm plaster cast too, poor thing bless her.....super colour though Wendy....does it come in Teal ? if so I may well consider having a trip to A & E ;)

This was my cake when I broke it open....I just love these new food gel colours I have just bought, the normal liquid ones from the supermarket seem so pale and pasty in comparison. I am surprised we weren't all bouncing off the ceiling though with all those food colourings( i think I was probably a little over generous with the amount i added to the mix).

All the left over cake mix was poured into a loaf tin and I made a slab cake to leave at home for dale and the girls......
when I got home from the crop there were literally just crumbs left.....so I guess I did something right :)

Right, thats me done for the evening, just going for a cuppa and a catch up. Enjoy the rest of the weekend :)
Warmest wishes Anita..xxx

Feeling a bit 'Jovial'???

Ooops, I am sorry I seem to have neglected my poor blog a bit.....

Firstly I would like to wish you a very Happy and prosperous New year! I hope that 2011 holds everything you hope for and more! I also hope that you had a better Christmas and New Year than we did in this household!! Yep, we had illness....and LOTS of it :(. Both Hubby and me had flu....and 3 weeks on I still haven't quite kicked it to the kerb! So we lost our Christmas Eve night out, we had to stay away from our family on Christmas Day :( which was horrid as we ALWAYS spend Christmas afternoon and evening all together. Boxing Day didn't even hold it normal style. then Lauren became ill too and then ended up with a kidney infection on top, which wasn't very nice and totally ruined her long weekend away in Weymouth that was supposed to have happened over the New Year Weekend. So all in all it was pretty manky for us all! Still, never mind, worse things happen at sea...or so they say!LOL.

So, anyway, I thought I would share a couple of layouts( very much alike). I just adore the Basic Grey Jovial Range and couldn't resist a Christmas page using them.

Ths first one has an origami Christmas tree on it and lots of small circles punched out using a 1" circle punch. the four squares that are used to make the tree are

4 x 4", 3.5 x 3.5", 3 x 3" and 2.5 x 2.5"

The second page, as you can see, is virtually identical except I have cut out a few more flowers
and added to the page rather than the origami tree. Some of the flowers are raised in places too, for extra dimension. Oh yes....and its very VERY sparkly, there are lots of areas with Stickles on

I will be back sometime soon and share my latest Scrapology page for our new Challenge...
Warmest Wishes Anita..xxxx
