Say Cheese! Vicki Boutin Kaleidoscope

Hello,

Today I have a vibrant layout to share using the VERY colourful Kaleidoscope papers brought to you by American Crafts and designed by Vicki Boutin.

Our youngest daughter went through a phase of having the most beautiful, vibrant colours in her hair whilst she was in 6th Form at College ( infact she would STILL have her hair like it if her job allowed!) and I thought these papers were brilliant for this photo of us together playing with Snapchat filters and sporting her glorious magenta locks.

I based the page on a sheet of White Canvas Bazzill cardstock that I had cut down to 11.25" x 11.25" and then stuck it in the centre of a sheet of Kaleidoscope, this created a lovely colourful frame all around the edge in a rainbow of colours.

There is a gorgeous sheet in the collection called Paper Hearts, its absolutely chock a block with a range of fabulous, bright hearts in every colour. I cut out a rainbow selection, however, you could select a smaller colourway instead if you wanted as there are lots of hearts in each colour.

After gently pencilling a large heart shape onto the page and popping the photo on, I stuck the cut out hearts all the way round in a graduation of colours, before gently bending up the edges to give them dimension.

The sheet of Beyond Words has a good selection of panels, words and pictures on so I chose a few bits to add to my layout and then finished it all off with some self adhesive colourful, faceted dots from my stash..... I was originally only planning a few odd ones here and there....but got a bit carried away!

Thank you for looking today, you can find these products and a fabulous selection of many others over at the SHOP.

Happy Crafting!

Grateful Moments .....Stamperia Spring Botanic

Hello :)

I thought I should get up to date with my last few layouts I made for the DT blog over at Papermaze.

I umm'ed and ahhh'ed about what photo to use for this page, but eventually settled on this one of us with our youngest daughter on her Christening Day back in August 2000.

Based on a sheet of Spring Botanic with English Roses, I trimmed 2cms off the top and the left hand side and then inked around the edges with an old dark brown ink pad, just to define the edges.
I then placed it onto a sheet of Herbarium. I also used a stencil with some script on it and gently sponged some white acrylic through it to just add a little more texture to the background.

Using a circle cutter I took my 7 x 5 photo and cut a circle with a 5" diameter and framed it using some pretty trim that was in my DT kit. It didn't quite fit all the way round so I added some large blossoms from my stash to cover the gap.

I used the leftover part of the sheet of  Yellow Alpine Poppy and cut out the poppies and the bird on a branch and added to the bottom left and upper right of the page and a couple of the post card panels behind the photo.

I finished the page off by adding small letter stickers, Prima Planner Flowers, Prima Crystals and some chipboard word peices. I also picked a bottle of Stickles and Liquid Pearls from my stash and added large dotted circles in various places round the page.

It's been lovely working with Stamperia papers for my last few posts on here and you can find a lovely selection of them in the shop HERE along with lots and lots of other gorgeous goodies.

Happy Crafting everyone.

Waarmest wishes
