Photo Bunting and a simple Layout using Sea Breeze from Kaisercraft

Hi There....
I decided I would try my hand at making some photo bunting and as these papers from the Kaiserdraft Sea Breeze are in my fave colours I just knew I had found the perfect ones to use and combined them with some family photo's.

I made a heart shaped template and then cut out 11 heart shapes on nice sturdy chipboard. I covered 6 with some of my favourite black and white photos, I then sponged around the edges with some white acrylic paint and the remaining 5 hearts were covered in scraps of paper including Refresh Splash and Swirl

I then added paper blossoms, sequins and butterflies that were given some *bling* using some Mercury Glass Stickles Each heart had 2 holes punched into them and I threaded them all up with some garden twine. I am really pleased with the final product and see a few more in the pipeline in different colours. I think they would be wonderful for a wedding decoration, using photo's of both the bride and groom, maybe as they grew up and decorated in the wedding colours or for a special anniversary.....or imagine for a child's first birthday with some of their 1st year milestones....the list could be endless

I also made a very quick, simple layout. I based it on a sheet of Sea . I stuck a 5" wide band of  Refresh down the centre with a thin scalloped band of  Waterlily down each side.
I misted various patches with some Turquoise spray and added a sprinkling of turq and silver sequins and a selection of die cuts from the matching Collectables range.

I don't know about you, but I LOVE using my sewing machine to stitch sections on layouts if I get the chance. However......there is a brand new range of gorgeous stamps in the shop by a new manufacturer called 49 and Market
And in the range is a gorgeous set called Gabi's Line Stitch .....I fell in love with these and they sell out so quickly everywhere that I have seen them.....so I managed to grab a set.....and they ARE AWESOME!!! I used them around the edges of my layout....and I can see they will be appearing in LOTS of places from now on. ;)

Have you played with Sea Breeze yet?  If so, it would be lovely to see what you have created with it.
Happy Scrapping.

X is for (e)Xplosion.....Feb challenge at Scrapology

My goodness.....February already!!! So here we are with another super challenge from the DT over at Scrapology! This month we have lifted a fabulous and fun layout by Corrie Jones, whose blog you can visit here!
So....the challenge is to create an explosion of embellishments.....it can be any kind of embellishments you like .....I chose sequins, crystals, glitter domes and wood veneer hearts.
I scrapped 3 pics of my eldest gorgeous girly at her prom ( I shall still add some journalling at some point)

I inked and painted through a mask to create the background behind the photos and coloured in a beautiful stamped image by Saturated Canary using Promarkers and added Stickles and Liquid Pearls and then just added a splattering of embellies and finished with a title od AC Thickers ( in my fave colour lol)

Here is Corrie's original and inspiring layout that we lifted...

and here is the sketch that our lovely Lynn created for following .

So....there you go....a fun new challenge to join in with and if you visit the Scrapology blog you can see all the beautiful and varied DT examples....plus see the lovely prize up for offer this month.....what are you waiting for????? Go *explode* everywhere :D

A couple of cards .....

to share with you :)
Hello there :)....I have found myself in a strangely creative mood today ( most bizarre as of late my mojo seems to have left the building!!!) Anyway, I thought I would strike whilst the iron was hot...
I have actually managed to make 2 cards and 1 and a half layouts!!! So tonight I thought I would share the cards with you.
The first one is for my Nephew, who is going to be 5 on Saturday. The stamped image is one from the Greeting Farm, coloured with Promarkers and lots of the Promarker blender pen and the papers are from K&Co, with a CC greeting and a glittered chipboard No 5. I just finished the card off with some Liquid Pearls around the edges. The scalloped bazill square was cut using one of the large Spellbinder Dies on my friends Grand Calibur ( cheers Sue.xx)

The second card was made really just to use the scraps of paper from the first card. I used another scalloped square of Bazill, some Stickles, a cabochon rose bead and a SU stamp for the sentiment( thanks Zoe Hun.x) The butterfly was an image I printed from the internet and then I added Liquid Pearls along the wing edge and then coated the whole thing with Glossy Accents, and when dry, I cracked it. I sprayed the whole card with Spray and Sparkle Silver glitter spray

Hopefully i will get a good photo of one of the layouts tomorrow and can upload it, its for a challenge on a fab blog that I have found and its a challenge to use old stash....so watch this space.

All that shimmers....

is yummy, yum, yum! I think I have *just* discovered my latest addiction! Jill at Cardinal Colours has just taken delivery of lots and lots of delicious Cosmic Shimmer Mists, in all colours of the rainbow! I have never, ever tried these wonderful things before and I think I am hooked already! I have been spraying flowers, doilies, torn out sheets from books....even the kitchen sink!!!! Ok, so the sink was by accident....but boy oh boy it was pretty he!he!he!
so, here is my first attempt at a card using the mists!
It is much prettier and more shimmery/sparkly in the flesh.

I used a torn out book page, a chipboard butterfly and some stamps that I have had for ever from fancy pants.....gosh i think I am in love!

Have you played with them? If so have you blogged the things? I would love to see them if you have please.

Warmest wishes Anita..xxxx
