Bring out the old!

I was blog hopping the other day and i hopped from Sarah's
and i found this fantastic blog that belongs to a hugely talented lady called Tracie
She has created the most gorgeous layout using some really old stash ( Scenic Route) after being challenged by a friend of hers to break out some old stash.
And she has thrown the challenge out to everyone else to do the same. Seeing how my mojo has been little and not very often at the mo it really inspired me to go and have a rummage through my old artbin.....and this layout is made from some of the papers i found.

The papers are from the old Cosmo Cricket collection called Jitterbug. Now I guess I must have liked them at the time that I bought them originally....but to be honest, when I first saw them yesterday again they didn't really * do it* for me LOL. Which made it even MORE of a challenge to use them. But ya know what? I really rather like them now they are chopped up a lot smaller and inked.

I used an old A4 thick manilla type envelope to punch out and die cut somebutterflies and added some crystal beads, some Sassafrass and AC thickers letters for the title...oh yes and a little wooden flower.

the photo is Chloe and her cousin, Holly...taken at the playpark end of last summer.

Thanks for challenge Tracie :)

Warmest wishes Anita..xxx

A couple of cards .....

to share with you :)
Hello there :)....I have found myself in a strangely creative mood today ( most bizarre as of late my mojo seems to have left the building!!!) Anyway, I thought I would strike whilst the iron was hot...
I have actually managed to make 2 cards and 1 and a half layouts!!! So tonight I thought I would share the cards with you.
The first one is for my Nephew, who is going to be 5 on Saturday. The stamped image is one from the Greeting Farm, coloured with Promarkers and lots of the Promarker blender pen and the papers are from K&Co, with a CC greeting and a glittered chipboard No 5. I just finished the card off with some Liquid Pearls around the edges. The scalloped bazill square was cut using one of the large Spellbinder Dies on my friends Grand Calibur ( cheers Sue.xx)

The second card was made really just to use the scraps of paper from the first card. I used another scalloped square of Bazill, some Stickles, a cabochon rose bead and a SU stamp for the sentiment( thanks Zoe Hun.x) The butterfly was an image I printed from the internet and then I added Liquid Pearls along the wing edge and then coated the whole thing with Glossy Accents, and when dry, I cracked it. I sprayed the whole card with Spray and Sparkle Silver glitter spray

Hopefully i will get a good photo of one of the layouts tomorrow and can upload it, its for a challenge on a fab blog that I have found and its a challenge to use old stash....so watch this space.

Punching our 'Arts out over at Scrapology!

This month over at Scrapology we are scraplifting the work of the talented Laura Buckingham. The aim was to use lots of differrent bordered strips across the page and also to journal onto the actual photographs.
I chose to use some Echo Park papers for my page and scrapped some VERY old photos of me and my Mum....see I was kinda cute once!!!LOL

This is the sketch we worked from, very kindly drawn by our lovely Lynn.

I used some various MS border punches and butterfly punch and also some Papermania Alpha stickers for the title. I edited the photo to add the text before printing it( I really REALLY dislike my own handwriting!!) and finished the page off with some ZVA crystal swirls( whoch I was lucky enough to win recently :) )

I created a rolled border edge for the base of the page to add a little extra dimension and as per normal I inked every edge in sight LOL( well some things have JUST got to be done haven't they ;) )

You still have time to enter this months challenge over at Scrapology....once again we have been very kindly given a wonderful prize from Jill at Cardinal Colours....YOU could be the lucky winner!

Craft Shows,Quilts, Doughnuts and pretty pinkies!

Hello there :) Hope you are having a nice weekend so far? I have had a fab start to mine ( even though my feet are killing me this evening lol!)
Today I have been out with my best friend and her Mum and we went to the Brighton Centre to the hobbycraft and stitches show.
So i thought I would share a few pics.....unfortunately I am a bit of a numbnuts and have posted them back to front in the wrong order LOL, never mind eh!

So, here we are at the end of our day out.....enjoying some delish Krispy Kreme doughnuts **dribbles at thought of them**. I had a Chocolate Dreamcake and Sue had a Lemon Meringue Pie one, they were absolutely delish and I was glad I had made it back to her house with them in once piece still after being on the bus.

And we were very good and thoughtful and bought one back for Dale too. I was very well controlled at the show and hardly bought a thing.

We came across a fab nail stall and they were selling these nail art pens.....superb fun! So we had a little play and are well impressed with the goods.

This one is my thumb that I did.

And here is the rest of the hand LOL, the lady on the stall did the triple flower one.

I was rather pleased with my first effort....what do you think?

I saw this gogrgeous Clock Tower on the way to the bus and it looked so beautiful against the sky and just had to take a quick snap.

There didn't seem to be much in mind for the scrappers in us at the craft show, except a few VERY old sheets of PP and lots of MS Punches. mainly the stalls were for cardmakers, needleworkers or knitters.

There was a smaller side room and this is where the more textile things were.

My lovely friend Sharon is a fab quilter, so I took these few pics for her ( Waves to Sharon :) ) hope you like them.

They really were exquisite.....all the ladies are just soooo talented. I am in awe of their patience and skills. I just would NOT have ANY idea where to start with fabrics and sewing. There were loads more, but I was suddenly made aware that apparently we were not supposed to take any photos....whoops!

this one below was just astounding.....so very pretty and those flowers were just beautiful.

I reckon I could do them justice on a scrapbook page....but I am no where near clever enough to make them

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekends..xx

Heartstrings, cupcakes and poorly fingers!

Hello there :)
I can show you a piccy now of what I made out of some bazill cardstock from Jill ( I didn't want to blog it until I had given it to her lol). I was totally inspired by this blog post
when I stumbled across it whilst bouncing around different blogs. Although it was easy to make it was quite time consuming, but i am happy with the results :). I made 2 different length garlands for Jill and when I left the shop today she was hanging them in her window :) ( which,by the way, looks totally fabulous with lots of lovely reds, pinks and shiny things and lovely hand made cards, layouts, jewellery and other goodness)

Some of the hearts were straight cut and others I used fancy edge scissors :)

My uber talented and very lovely Sister popped round for a visit on tuesday and bought along some more of her cupcakes for me to sample( its a tough job, but someone has to do it lol) Just feast your eyes on these little beauties....and I can assure you they tasted every bit as scrumptious as they looked. I suggested she try a cake recipe called Red Velvet....and she did!

AND i thought I had died and gone to heaven!!!! They should be made ILLEGAL, they are just utterly evil and tempting and fanblinking tastic!!!!!
She had sprinkled some edible glitter on the top, it really sparkled beautifully, but its always hard to catch a sparkle on camera isn't it.
The rose formation itself is really stunning isn't it...that is really made from just butter cream through a thin ribbon nozzle, she is so amazingly clever....I am in awe of her. It almost seemed a crime to bite into one and ruin it....but like i said...almost a crime but not quite so I totally devoured every last little morsel ( thanks Hun :) )

Monday and tuesday were quite eventful days.....Monday saw a trip to A & E with Lauren ! She was playing footie at school....with the boys....and she was in goal.....the good news is she stopped the goal going in....the bad news is.....she dislocated her thumb in the process!

So 3 hrs in A & E and in Xray and then a visit on tuesday to the fracture clinic and she is now sporting this rather slinky little black number....complete with steel rod to keep her thumb where it is supposed to be * rolls eyes*.
tuesday evening she was playing ok in a tournament though....she captains the girls team and was playing midfield, so was safe to play......
Kids eh!!!!! What can you do??????
Wamrest wishes Anita..xxxx

'I Gave You My Heart (didn't I)'....

didn't I?....the immortal words of the Hot Chocolate 1984 song.
So, this is a heart I decorated with goodies mainly from Cardinal Colours. Jill has the fab polystyrene hearts, pink gingham ribbon, beautiful irridescant and pearlised sequins, prima blossoms and all colours of Stickles in her bricks and mortar shop in Polegate....I just added some other little blossoms, a bow and some feather fluff from my stash.

I have made this for Jill to hang in her Valentine window for the shop and I know some of the other girls are or have made her some goodies too :)

Can't wait to see them altogether.

I am working on a little something else at the mo too and hope to have that ready in the next couple of days to take to her....hope she likes it. All i will say is it's made from just Bazill cardstock in various shades of pink. Now if YOU need any cardstock at all...in ANY colour....then Jill is the person to visit, she has an AMAZINGLY LARGE collection of Bazill in every colour you could dream of and every style, be it Bling, Swiss Dotted, Metallic, Embossed,In Stitchez, With an edge and many other styles. She does of course sell lots and lots of other 'needful' things too.....if you are in the area I can highly recommend a visit....and if not, well her website is easy to navigate and Jill gives excellent customer service.

Warmest wishes Anita..xxx
