Meeting Maddie....and a couple of cards to welcome her.

Well I have been to meet Maddie now...and was lucky enough to have a cuddle with ( I am such a lucky Aunti!) she is just soooo teeny, I am sure neither of our girls were that small! Although they must have been as they were both considerably smaller that that at birth! So hard to remember or imagine.

Anyway, I made a couple of cards today, one for her Mummy and Daddy and one for her big Sister and Big Brothers, so I thought I would share them here :)

The first one is for her Mummy and Daddy, I used some Bazzill Bling ( from Cardinal Colours),
papers from Basic Grey 'Blush' collection, the image is a Penny Black coloured with my Promarkers ( again all colours available from Cardinal Colours).
I have used AC Foam Thickers for her name and coated with some Stickles, also used some Liquid Pearls. The little butterflies were from a MS punch and the circular sentiment is by Craftwork Cards

And this is the card I made for Maddie's Big Sister and Big Brothers :)
It's another Penny Black, again coloured with Promarkers and with another CC sentiment. I have a large square sheet of bling and have cut off 2 strips which I used around the edge of the image and although you can't see it, the whole card is really sparkly as I have sprayed it with Spray and Sparkle....so pretty...honest!

So anyway, here she is! Isn't she gorgeous? So teeny and pretty and soft...and she has that divine new baby smell, THE best smell in the world!

Welcome to big wide world dear little Maddie, I hope its filled with love, laughter, happiness and lots and lots of cuddles....especially from me ;)

Can you tell I am smitten?

Whooohooo It's a PINK one!!!

I am totally thrilled an delighted to announce the safe ( and very, VERY quick arrival) of my dear little niece Madison :). 8lbs 6ozs at 2.55am this morning.

I CANNOT wait to meet her and give my Sister THE biggest of hugs.

Congratulations Donna, Ian, Holly,Oliver and Josh xxxxx

'Say it with Ribbons' January Card Challenge at Scrapology

Our sponsor for this month's card challenge over at Scrapology is Ali from Craft Ribbons.

The challenge is - Say it with Ribbons - create a 'Love Is...' card .... an ideal theme as Valentine's day falls next month at the end of this challenge, so perfect timing too!

Here is my card for the DT this month, I used my ribbons to make some flowers ( don't look too close though, especially at the white one!! LOL)

If you pop over to Scrapology you can see all the smashing designs from the DT and our lovely guest designer this month, Carin.

So break out those ribbons and send us a link to what you create, we would love to see them. there is a lovely prize up for grabs,
Ali has offered a prize of the 'Love Is...' set of all 16 ribbons featured by the DT.
The prize is available to UK residents only.

Thank you very much to both Ali and Carin.

We blew the cobwebs away!

We did indeed! After sorting things out at home this morning, we thought it would be a great idea to go for a walk around Arlington Reservoir
It was a beautiful day....... blue sky with a few wispy clouds....but my god was it cold!!!!!
So we bundled up with lots of layers and headed up to the Reservoir( that's the South Downs you can see in the background....just beautiful!)

Lauren, just after we set off from the car park.

On the first memorial bench we came to we saw this wreath, still there from Christmas and left in memory of a loved one.

Chloe was also taking some snaps on our way round.

I loved the colour and texture of this moss/algae growing on the fence.

Since our last visit up here there has been quite a lot of work carried out. Lots of new fencing has appeared and there has been a lot of new planting done aswell.

Strolling along we saw this sign.....

which Lauren took as a direct order....and of course she obeyed.

Once we were on the far side of the Reservoir there is a wall that you can climb over to get on the embankments and Chloe went down onto them. the level of the water is dreadfully low already and the water-board are already on drought alert :(.
Chloe found lots and lots of shells on the embankment, some that were still joined together.

We also saw some signs of Spring coming along, namely the Catkins....although Lauren thought they would make a great pair of Pat Butcher earrings!

We also saw quite a few berries in various patches along the trail, I guess the birds are quite well provided for this year which is good :)

This is all Lauren's fault! She decided the Reservoir wall would be a great place to plank

and so Dale and Chloe decided to join her!

This was just the start of the mucking around....and soon they were all on top form!

People must have thought we were mad!!! Well, those 3 anyway lol!
There was just NO stopping them.

I have to say though, it was really lovely to just get out, walk and get totally blown to bits in the bracing breeze....and it not cost a penny! We had a lovely time, a good laugh and best of all it was quality time together.
I hope you have had a lovely Sunday too?

T is for Texture on a Double Layout over at Scrapology.

This month we are challenging you to use texture on your layouts, while scraplifting a fab, fun and bright double layout by Stacey Hansen.
We would also like to see you add some texture to your layout, this can be in the form of fabrics, lumpy embellishments, chipboard, embossing, just anything you like to add
texture and dimension to your layout :)

Here is my layout for the DT this month, I thoroughly enjoyed letting loose with lumpy bits LOL.
The photos were taken on holiday back in the Summer, the girls had some chocolate facemasks and we had a right giggle with them ( it was Chloe's first time trying one on!)
They thought they would be kind and share a bit with me by swiping their cheeks against mine when they gave me a hug!! Bless em!

Here are a couple of close up's.
I painted the bubble wrap with some cream acrylic paint and then gave it a generous squirting of Cosmic Shimmer Spray. I also used lots of 'Platinum' Stickles to outline the flowers and other bits and bobs ( both available from Cardinal Colours)

Here is the original layout of Stacey's that the DT have lifted
and the sketch was created from.

Here is the sketch which was modified slightly to fit in with our 'Scrapology' style!

Why not pop over to Scrapology and have a look see what the rest of the DT and our Guest Designer for this month have created :)

Once again we have been very lucky this month and our lovely Jill of Cardinal Colours has generously donated this amazing prize!! Thank you so much Jill. xxx

This prize is a sheet of all 32 flavours including: Cherries Jubilee, Raspberry Parfait, Strawberry Cheesecake, Tutti Fruiti, Orange Sorbet, Irish Mint, Mountain Blackberry, Tin Roof, S’mores, Rocky Road, Cookies and Cream and more! I can't decide which is my favourite? And just think, if your's is the winning entry then you wouldn't have to choose.....you would *scoop* the whole lot of them :)

So, all you have to do is scrap a double layout using the sketch near the top of the post and add some texture to it....as much as you like :D. So, what are you waiting for :)
