Tiny Dancer *Prima Fairy Belle*

OK, I am officially IN LOVE with this range of papers from Prima!!! which is bizarre to say the least as I am really NOT a fairy kinda girl, but I really REALLY have fallen for these ones.
And I just knew straight away that I had to scrap these pics of Chloe, when she was just a little herbert bless her. She used to go and watch Lauren at her ballet class and was desperate to go to classes too but they would not allow little ones to start until they were 3! So a few days after her 3rd birthday she was raring to go and I took a few shots of her....just look at those precious little feet....so teeny awwww. This is one of the layouts I made at our recent Blossom Retreat.
I used a REALLY old sheet of Basic Grey Vagabond 'Vintage Paisley' and then a torn edged sheet of Prima Fairy Belle En Pointe which I sewed onto the BG sheet.

I used some silver glitter AC Thickers for the title and changed the colour by gently dabbing with various colours of Alcohol inks.
I also used some teeny alpha stickers.

The chipboard flourish is by Dusty Attic and I sprayed it with Cosmic Shimmer Mist and added a few little sparkles with Crystal Stickles.
I printed out some butterflies from Swirlydoos and used Stickles Rock Candy and Icicle to decorate them and also the fairy.

The flower was made from chiffon and I singed the edges, then added Stickles and crystals. I used a MS deep edge punch which I also sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer Mist. I used various little blossoms that were originally white, but I sprayed them with the mists too so they co-ordinated with the page.

I really enjoyed making this page so much and it was lovely to use some of my older photos that were taken before I had a digital camera.
I have DEFINATELY got to get myself some more of the Prima Fairy papers though....watch this space!

Every Day is a Special Occasion....

but some days are just a little more special than others.I made this layout for a class I have recently taught and used the beautiful papers by My Minds Eye from their Lost and Found II range called "Blush". so pretty and sparkly and just perfect to scrap this photo taken of us going out for Lauren's 16th Birthday meal.
I I hand cut a random wavy edge all around the base paper and backed the whole page onto a sheet of Bazill Bling. I gently inked the edges and then repeated the same on the photo mat ( although I did use large scallop scissors to cut the mat).
I used a Bon Bonnerie net to create the skirt and simply folded it up, cut a small slice in the paper to poke it through and fixed at the back of the layout. I then just finished off the waistband with a couple of mulberry roses and some pearls.

I cut the bunting and birds from another sheet of paper from the range and added some flat pearls on each lacy banner. I used strips of crystals to edge the photograph and then finished off the page using 2 delicate flourishes that were die cut using the beautiful Valerian Flourish by Memory Box

I hope you have better weather where you are than we are having here. The winds are horrendous and have created havoc in our back garden and the rain ( although much needed)just doesn't seem to stop for long does it. Oh well, never mind. Enjoy whats left of the weekend....I am just off to make bacon butties ;) Warmest wishes Anita xx

Thinking of you....

                                                         on your Birthday Daddy.

Thinking of you Daddy, but that is nothing new,
I thought about you yesterday, and the day before that too,
I'll think about you tomorrow, and as the birthdays come and go
I'll think about you forever, because I love and miss you so.

Blossoms and Rainbows

I have just spent a brilliant weekend away with a very special group of friends on our yearly crafting retreat. Each year we take along a little pressie for everyone and this year I made these key rings, one for each of the girls( only took a piccie of 4, but there are 12 altogether and each one is different)
I received some beautiful gifts from the other girls and we had a lovely weekend ( as we always do) and lots of layouts, cards, mini albums and even some jewellery was created whilst we were there.

The weather wasn't fantastic, but we did have some sunshine in amongst the rain....and hail lol!

On Saturday we were treated to the most magnificent rainbow, it really was beautiful and vibrant. Just a shame I couldn't capture its real beauty with my camera.....never mind.

Here are all the lovely Blossoms ( photo taken on Lynn's camera) Thank you girls for another super weekend, its such a pleasure to spend time with you all....xxxx

What is making you smile today?

At the moment I am trying to sort out various photos for some page kits I am trying hard to put together for a long weekend scrapping retreat away with my closest girlfriends ( I CANNOT wait I can tell you!) Just the thought of it has made me smile.
But flicking through my photos and sorting them out for each kit I came across these 2. When I first met my hubby, one of the first things I noticed about him( apart from his gorgeous eyes and warm smile) was his ability to make me smile.....and laugh! And to be honest I have always found that very attractive in a man. And over the years I have smiled and laughed and laughed and laughed to the point of aching so many times ( its the best therapy you can get!!)
On this coming Sunday it will be the 22nd Anniversary of our very first date....I remember fondly having a lot of laughs that day.....and a lot ever since.
It's really made me smile looking through a few wedding pics too....how young we looked!!!!!! Well he was only 19!

And it really made me smile again finding this photo, which was taken on our last wedding anniversary.

So....what has made YOU smile today? Please leave a comment and let me know :) xxxxx

"A smile costs nothing but gives much. It enriches those who receive without making poorer those who give. It takes but a moment, but the memory of it sometimes lasts forever. None is so rich or mighty that he cannot get along without it and none is so poor that he cannot be made rich by it. Yet a smile cannot be bought, begged, borrowed, or stolen, for it is something that is of no value to anyone until it is given away. Some people are too tired to give you a smile. Give them one of yours, as none needs a smile so much as he who has no more to give."

True Blue!

Hello there to anyone who might still drift along to my blog.
I thought I should upload this layout that I made at Cardinal Colours Spring weekend crop at the end of March.
I took the photo of Chloe on a visit to Sharnfold PYO last summer, we quite often visit down there throughout the year :)
In the play area they have some huge old tractor tyres that are set in the ground for the kids to clamber over, but Chloe was happier to just *chill out* on them.
I have used some My Minds Eye papers from the Stella Rose " Hattie" collection.

I printed out some butterflies that I downloaded from a fantastic forum called Swirlydoos ( you imply MUST visit! It is overflowing with awesome inspiration). I also used Stickles, Liquid Pearls and some bling to add a little sparkle to my page.

the beautiful filigree fan shape in the background was cut on the cricut expression using the Ornamental Iron II Cart....I am soooo TOTALLY in love with it!

Anyway, enough from me, I am off for an early night. Hoping for decent weather tomorrow morning so I can go and have stroll around the large local boot sale and see if I can bag a bargain.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

Warmest wishes Anita xxx

L is for Lace...April at Scrapology.

Be it paper or fabric, over at Scrapology, the DT challenge you to use lace on your layout. This month we are scraplifting a beautiful layout called 'Cherished Memories' by BettyLou1 from Scrapbook.com

Here is my DT offering for this one. I used papers from 7Dots Studio, doily stamps from Stampin Up, stickers from Echo Park, some glitter card for the photo mat, a variety of blossoms and some seed beads.

The beady swirl actually ended up a lot thicker than I wanted :(. I dribbled a swirl of Tacky Glue and dribbled the seed beads onto it, it just decided to spread out a bit LOL. I then sprinkled on some irridescent glitter for a little extra sparkle.

I couldn't decide whether to use paper or fabric lace, so ended up using both! I punched out some paper lace using a MS punch and then took some cream Broderie Anglais lace and sprayed it with various Cosmic Shimmer Mists.

This is the original, beautiful layout by BettyLou1, so pretty isn't it!

And here is the sketch we all worked from and is the one we would like you to use if you decide to play along with us.

As always, we have been very spoilt by Jill from Cardinal Colours, she has once again donated a fabulous prize for the winner. Its Core Impressions -Vintage Brights Collection.

Vintage Brights is an Exclusive collection of Jenni Bowlin Studios designs embossed on Core’dinations, the only sandable Colour Core Cardstock. The Vintage Brights Collection is the perfect compliment to the JBS Front Porch and Tangerine Dream lines. The assorted pack consists of four embossed patterns in five colours totalling 20, 12" x 12" sheets.
What a fab prize!
So, all you have to do is create a layout, using our sketch and some lace on your page....and you have until the 5th May.

Warmest wishes Anita xx

Pieces of Me....a canvas class.

Yesterday I spent the day with a super bunch of ladies, we were at the Cardinal Colours Spring Weekend Crop. Unfortunately I could only do the one day, which was 10am til 10pm, but the other ladies are back there again today til 5pm. Over the 2 days there are various classes being held with some lovely ladies
In the afternoon I taught this class on a large 16inch canvas. We used beautiful glittered papers from My Minds Eye.

We made some large spiral roses with pearl centres, did some paper pleating and some layering of papers too.

I had a great time designing the canvas several weeks ago and it hangs in my lounge, I have to say I am really pleased with the end result and I hope my ladies in class are pleased with their ones too :)
In September Jill will be holding another Crop Weekend, this time in St Leonards, nr Hastings. If you like the sound of it then check out her website for details.

Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend? Its certainly a lot warmer and more pleasant than it was yesterday xxxx
