Grateful Moments .....Stamperia Spring Botanic

Hello :)

I thought I should get up to date with my last few layouts I made for the DT blog over at Papermaze.

I umm'ed and ahhh'ed about what photo to use for this page, but eventually settled on this one of us with our youngest daughter on her Christening Day back in August 2000.

Based on a sheet of Spring Botanic with English Roses, I trimmed 2cms off the top and the left hand side and then inked around the edges with an old dark brown ink pad, just to define the edges.
I then placed it onto a sheet of Herbarium. I also used a stencil with some script on it and gently sponged some white acrylic through it to just add a little more texture to the background.

Using a circle cutter I took my 7 x 5 photo and cut a circle with a 5" diameter and framed it using some pretty trim that was in my DT kit. It didn't quite fit all the way round so I added some large blossoms from my stash to cover the gap.

I used the leftover part of the sheet of  Yellow Alpine Poppy and cut out the poppies and the bird on a branch and added to the bottom left and upper right of the page and a couple of the post card panels behind the photo.

I finished the page off by adding small letter stickers, Prima Planner Flowers, Prima Crystals and some chipboard word peices. I also picked a bottle of Stickles and Liquid Pearls from my stash and added large dotted circles in various places round the page.

It's been lovely working with Stamperia papers for my last few posts on here and you can find a lovely selection of them in the shop HERE along with lots and lots of other gorgeous goodies.

Happy Crafting everyone.

Imagination..........Stamperia Voyages Fantastiques

For this post I have worked with some more Stamperia papers, this time from the Voyages Fantastiques range. A beautiful steampunk collection combining vintage aqua, creams and browns.
I chose a photo taken back in 2006 of the four of us, we were actually taking an autumn walk on a local beach.

I based the layout on a sheet of Wallpaper
and then took a sheet of Air Balloon . I tore the left hand side off at approx 5.5 inches and inked all around the edges, then stuck it too the left hand side of the backing sheet.
From the remainder of the sheet I cut out the balloons, wings and the adventure quote.

I love using Cosmic Shimmer Sprays and I had a good old squirt all across the page, pooling the ink in some areas and then letting them run down the page. When this dries it gives a beautiful metallic shine.

I cut various bits and pieces of paper and inked the edges, then layered them behind the photo. Some cream cotton lace was laid across the bottom of the photo.

I had a rummage through my collection of Stickles and Liquid Pearls and chose 3 colours, Dark Chocolate, Rose Gold and Platinum. Using a selection of pots and lids of different sizes to work round I added dots of each of the colours and created decorative circles in random places about the page.

In my DT kit I had a few bits and pieces of chipboard shapes, so I picked some out and then sprayed and dabbed them with Cosmic Shimmer Mists too as I felt that on this page they didn't really work staying plain.

As you can see, by adding some colour to the chipboard really makes it co ordinate with the papers.

Stamperia produce a stunning range of papers, many of which are in stock in the shop and would be great for scrapping various photos or creating beautiful cards.....why not pop along and have a look and treat yourself.

Little Poppet........... Stamperia Spring Botanic

I have a new layout to share using some papers from the detailed Spring Botanic range by Stamperia, featuring floral themes, garden insects and vintage ephemera.

I have been waiting a  few years to scrap this photo of my gorgeous niece, taken on a day that we went to visit some poppy fields on a day out. The beautiful sheet of Poppy and Bird paper was perfect for it, so I backed it onto a sheet of pale green card stock and then inked gently round the entire edge with a gold and then a coppery ink pad. I roughed up the edges of the paper to give a distressed look.

Although the sheet is really lovely I wanted to change the look of it slightly so I part misted and then also drizzled 2 different colors of Cosmic Shimmer mist , Tarnished Gold and Ancient Copper across and down the page.

From the sheet of Yellow Alpine Poppy I cut a few of the panels out, inked the edges and popped them partly behind the photo ( which I had matted in the same pale green card).

I had some Dusty Attic Wordplay chipboard pieces to work with, so chose a suitable word and inked it up gently and added to the right hand sight of the photo and did the same with a tiny chipboard lock and key.

I also added some pearls, a metal filigree and a faceted flat back crystal from the Prima Say it in Crystals range before finishing the layout with a strip of cotton lace and a title made using some copper chipboard alphabet letters from my stash.

I hope you likes the layout, Stamperia papers are beautiful and come in a range of different patterns and themes, why not pop over to the shop and have a look.

Hope you get some chance to craft today!

Home Tweet Home ....... Prima Midnight Garden leftovers

 Hello again,

Today I have a post to share using my few left over scraps of Prima's gorgeous Midnight Garden Collection. You can see my previous posts using it HERE and HERE.

I wasn't actually sure what I was going to do for this post, so I hunted around the house looking for inspiration. I found the wooden birdhouse blank in my craft room that I have had for a few years and had not got round to decorating, so I grabbed that and then also found the glass candle stick sitting in a cupboard with some vases ( I never did like that candle stick!!)

I painted the candlestick with white acrylic paint, giving it 2 coats, allowing it to dry fully inbetween coats.
Then, using a pure bristle shaving brush I very gently swiped the candlestick using some copper paint to create soft highlights and enhance the shaping of the glass.

The copper captures the light beautifully, but also softens the starkness of the white and gives it a slightly more vintage or shabby look.

Using the scraps I had left of  Old Map and Midnight Garden sheets, I covered the roof and the house completely and then gently soft brushed copper paint around all of the edges.
The inside of the house was stuffed with natural coloured sisal fibre and I used some vanilla coloured cotton lace trim and some pearly trim to decorate the edges of the birdhouse around the base rim.

I added some tulle trim near the top of the candlestick and then finished off the whole thing by adding a mix of Prima and Petaloo blossoms and leaves, some of which I had softly swiped with copper paint.

I am actually really happy with how this came out in the end and hope that maybe it might inspire you a little to use up your scraps and alter something maybe that you didn't like and give it a new lease of life!!

Thank you for looking and don't forget there lots and lots of gorgeous products over in the SHOP, with needful New Products  .

Family is the Anchor......... Prima Midnight Garden pt 2

Hello again

I have a quick little post to share of an altered frame that I have made to hang in our home. I have used some more of the Prima Midnight Garden range, which is very elegant and lush.

I have had this frame for quite some time and never quite knew what to do with it, so I thought this might be the perfect opportunity.

I painted the whole frame with 2 layers of white chalk paint and when it had dried I gently sanded it back in places with a fine sandpaper to expose the black and give it a *shabby* look.

On the top have I removed the photo aperture mount strip  and popped in the photo with a panel of  Rose Receipts on either side of the photo to fill the rest of the frame.

In the bottom section of the frame I used a wide strip of Midnight Garden
This has some really pretty copper metallic detailing on it in amongst the flowers.

I had some little wordy stickers that I picked through and chose those that I thought worked on this piece.

In my own stash I had some copper chipboard letter packs so I used them for the title and the quote underneath.... I also added some little copper dots to the corner of the frame.

I much prefer this look to the original frame and am now looking forward to displaying it at home.

Thank you for looking xx

Have a super weekend

Warmest wishes

Prima Midnight Garden

Hello again,
today I have a layout using the beautifully foiled Midnight Garden range from Prima.
This collection is a gorgeous mix of deep, dark florals mixing ruby, turquoise and creams with rich copper foiling and vintage designs.

I wasn't sure initially what photo to use on these luscious papers and it did pose a problem for me for  little while. However, I eventually came across this photo of my eldest daughter that was taken on a photo day at the nursery she used to attend. We had borrowed a posh frock from a friend for the photos and she sat beautifully for the sitting bless her.

The page is backed by a sheet of dark grey cardstock and on the left hand side I stamped using a Kaisercraft Clear Stamp in the Diamond design and some copper acrylic paint.

Using a sheet of More Roses Please to create the page I sliced down from top to bottom on the left hand side approx 3" in.... I also popped a 3" strip of  Feather Collector, sliced in half, behind the top sheet. I rolled both layers back separately to expose the reverse of the paper and also to show the Diamond stamping in the background and to create some dimension on my page.

Using 3 colours of Stickles in Pink, Copper and Midnight Blue I sponged randomly across the page which added some pretty sparkly highlights.

Using a Tim Holtz Tattered Florals large die I cut out a few flowers using sections from Feather CollectorOld Map , and Travelling Ticket,
I layered them up, curling the edges and sponging them with Copper and Pink Stickles, then popped in some Pink Stickles for the centres.

Copper glitter card was used to die cut some swirls and vines that were added to the blooms.

A couple of small panels were cut from Rose Receipts which I gently inked around the edges of with an old dark brown ink pad, I also added an inked small tag with a cute heart paper clip from Doodlebug. These were layered and tucked behind the photo.

Rather than matting the photo I popped it into a delicate chipboard frame and also added a chipboard title.

A few feathers were cut from the Feather Collector sheet and added below the title and I used a teeny sticker on the tag and under the title from a sheet of Pretty Little Studio sayings.

I finished the page off with sprinklings of sequins in various areas in coppers and golds.

I hope you treat yourselves to some of the gorgeous Prima papers, there are so many new and beautiful sets to choose from in the shop..... they really are stunning.

Happy Crafting

My Heart Belongs to You

Hello!

Anita here with you today and I have a new layout to share, this time using the Loves Me range from Pebbles.  Double sided papers filled with striking patterns, hearts, cute animals, flowers and tags all in a range of eye catching pinks and reds. It will melt your heart!

I backed the layout on a sheet of Marischino cardstock and matted the photo with the same colour.
I used a sheet of  Huggably Yours and also Bouquet of Love, torn at angles and over lapped to make back up to an 11.5" x 11.5" square.

On the upper half of the page I splattered some drops of pink and black Distress Stain and cut a thin strip of the striped paper that I then added a pearly buckle to and stuck across the top of the page.
From the left over pieces of the 2 sheets I cut various flowers and sloths on hearts which were placed along the torn edges to create a border.

From the sheet of Tag You're It  I chose 5 tags that I liked with various sayings on and threaded them through with some 3mm Satin Ribbon, then arranged them across the page.

I cut the Fox, Typewriter, Cookie Heart and banner shape from left over tags and added them to the page and then just finished it off with a few sprinklings of sequins ( who doesn't love sequins!!)

This is the perfect paper collection for up and coming Valentines Day, whether it be for a love filled layout or making that special someone an extra special card....but also for lots of other themes too, why restrict yourself!
You can see all the Pebbles Collections in the SHOP along with lots of other needful things.
