Hi Ho! Hi Ho! It's off to camp she goes......

well off she WENT actually lol. Yesterday my youngest little sherbet went off on her year 6 school trip. They are visiting Blackland Farm Activity Centre for 3 days and I am sure they are having a total blast...well I hope so anyway :).

Originally the trip was going to be called off because of the cost....it was raised horrendously by the cost of the coach and meant that several of the children had to drop out after the original price was a lot higher than expected. I spoke to her lovely teacher and volunteered to drive some of the children there and some other parents agreed to aswell.....so off we set yesterday with a class of VERY excited children between a few cars.
Here she is just before we left....that red spotty bag is MUCH bigger than it looks in the photo and weighed a ton LOL! They had to pack such a lot of towels and clothes and all their bedding too!

There was a lot of excited chatter when we arrived and they saw the massive climbing and abseiling walls and they were going to be taking part in several activities over the days away, including kayaking, archery, zip wires, underground tunnel maze and team buliding activities ( I *wish* I was there armed with a camera!!

Anyway, needless to say I missed my lil munchkin last night :( and even switched a little lamp on in her room over night so I could pretend she was still there....soppy apeth or what!!!

We are going to collect them tomorrow afternoon....and I bet they all come home totally worn out and full of their stories of what high jinks they got up too....I CAN'T wait!!! :)

A Little Card For Linda.

Just a very quick fly through tonight....just wanted to share a little round easel card. I made this and sent to my friend Linda.
I used the largest round scalloped nestie in the set I have and the next size down to cut the inner circle.

The butterflies were punched from some old Scenic Route scraps that I had squirrelled away and after glittering the blossoms and poppinf brads in the centre and adding some pearls to the card I sprayed the whole thing with some Spray and Sparkle Iridescent glitter spray.

Good luck in your new adventure Linda :), I hope its perfect for you..xx

One Layout, 2 Colourways

I thought I would share a couple of layouts with you that I made a few weeks ago. They are the same page, but just completed in different colourways :)
The first one is using papers by GCD Studios and are from the Paris Nights collection. I just added some swirls cut from Bazill, printed out butterflies, large mulberry flat flowers and a little black doily. The mulberry flowers were gently misted with Cosmic Shimmer mists and I used Stickles on the sprial roses and the butterfly wings.

I distressed each layer of paper by picking at the edges once they were stuck done. I finished it off with a few flat backed pearls.

And here it is in the other colourway. This time I used Basic Grey Ambrosia papers and also misted the swirls.

Right, I am off to pack my smallest girlies bag for camp. She is off tomorrow to an activity camp with her class and I am one of the designated drivers Unfortunately not too many miles away from the camp is The Craft Barn ;).....I guess I will just HAVE to force myself to drive on a few miles more and visit....it would be rude not to eh ;) lol.
Have a lovely evening.
Warmest wishes Anita..xxx

Oh I have been a BAAAAAD Mummy!!!

Oh yes I have!......and worse than that it has made me a baaaaaad scrapper too! A bit more about those 2 things in a bit though.
Today I took the girls over to Happy Endings Animal Sanctuary
It was their official opening day and it was going to be officiated by none other than the lovely Peter Andre!!!!!
Various friends of Lauren's had posted on Facebook yesterday that they had seen him in our local Weatherspoons, Costa's and down at B & Q and he was appealling on the radio for people to attend today ( he was there with his camera crew filming for his new series too). So over we toddled this morning, despite the weather being grotty....right out in the middle of the marshes, down teeny little lanes, with barely enough space for one car in places, let alone anywhere for cars to pull over to let you pass....it was a bit hairy at times I can tell you!

When we first arrived there Lauren was accosted by this pale and pasty looking fella!

We walked just round the corner and look who we saw....he is SUCH a nice guy ( not to mention kinda cute ;) )
He was there to promote the amazing work that the sanctuary do and it was just so sad to hear some of the stories of cruelty that some of the animals have been put through. These are the 2 special guys Terry Kemp and Chris Johns who have to uphold paid jobs to carry on the work that they do. Most of their wages go straight to the animals, and they have no such thing as ‘spare time’; their time is dedicated to the animals in their care, and saving more!

Now to the Baaaaad Mummy and scrapper bit.......... I took this photo below, the blonde hair and bare arm you can see belongs to Lauren, Peter stopped and was chatting with her, so I reached over the fence and snapped this shot....JUST as the girl along from me put her hand out with her mobile phone!!!! But worse than that a split second later he leant forward and KISSED lauren too.....and I MISSED it!!!!!!!! How gutted was Lauren? And how miffed was I missing a scrapping chance like that!!!!! My flipping camera didn't fire back up quick enough to grab the shot.....bugger!!!!!

I did get this shot though and he IS looking right at me :)
Do you recognise these 2 beautiful children? Yep, it's Junior and Princess.... they really are both absolutely gorgeous and were so very well behaved. They are a credit to both their parents.

Peter stood out in the arena, with the rain falling, for some time telling us all jokes and little rhymes that he and his brother had made up about the santuary whilst they were standing in the horse box....they were quite good actually.

Here is his lovely brother Micheal....he was rather cute too and very friendly. So was the puppy!

I hope that there was a shedload of money raised for what is a very, VERY good cause. Peter was genuinely lovely, as were his entourage.....and I can see why he makes his fans squeal out his name.....I had to stifle a couple of little squeals myself LOL.

Off to Awards Night!

Tonight Lauren is at the Sports Award Night for her College. Last year she was chuffed to win the Basketball Contribution of the Year award....but she was absolutely thrilled to have also been voted Sports Personality of the Year :).

This year she has been Captain of the girls football team and has also been involved in the Netball and BAsketball team too, but her true love is with the Footie.
So who knows, as I am typing this post she may well have been awarded something tonight....fingers crossed :)

I know I am biased ( I AM her Mumma afterall LOL)....but I think she looks stunning! This is her new dress she chose..... it looks almost pinky but is actually called Coffee ( must have been a VERY milky one!)

The evening includes a drinks reception, photo session, award ceremony, 3 course meal, after dinner speaker, entertainment and then a disco til midnight.....I shall need matchsticks in my eyes before I go and collect her LOL>

Here she is with her smashing best friend, Jack.....we picked him up on the way to the Golf Course where is it being held

I will let you know how it all goes :)

Like a Butterfly. BoBunny Gabrielle.

This is the layout I made last month using Bo Bunny Gabrielle papers....and WHAT a stunning range of papers it is! The colours alone are just lush and make you want to drool...or decorate your lounge to match!! Infact I have a best friend who has just done EXACTLY that!!!!!!

Unfortunately when I had this page with me last week at class it met with a bit of an accident......when some Cosmic Shimmer mist migrated from another table and decided to kindly stick itself to the photos on this page......so when you look closely it looks like the girls have got measles LOL.....So this is now up for a re-do.....Never mind, they are such wonderful papers to work with anyway. The large piccy section with the hinges opens to reveal another area suitable for another photo or journalling, I gently used gold UTEE on the hinges. And the round die cut lends itself perfectly to remove the centre to make a photo frame, which I actually used last month for a Birthday card with a photo in for my lovely friend Lynn

Little Goth Girl

Just a very quick post tonight as i am off to bed in a moment, nursing a right minger of a headache/jawache and PMT....GGGGRrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

I thought I would blog this card I made this afternoon for my Aunt whose birthday it is tomorrow
I used scraps from my scrap bag, i *think* they are Making Memories, Off Beat by Basic Grey and the cream and spot one I think is also Basic Grey, possibly from the Blush Collection. I cut and stickled the Sissix swirl and added some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. The image is a Gorjuss Girl stamp and I coloured her with my Promarkers

I ran the brown square through an embossing folder before matting each section with brown bazzill and tied some organza ribbon round the card.

Hope she likes it :).xx

Fun at The Farm and The Fair!

We have had a really lovely week off work this week with the girls. Although Lauren was a way for a few days surfing with her boyfriend and his family we have still had a couple of days with her.
On Wednesday we went to The Hop Farm in Kent. The weather was amazing, we were so lucky and we took Chloe's lovely friend with us. They had an absolute blast together.

We had a visit to The Magic Factory and tried out the various magic tricks, which were great fun!

Leah managed to skillfully levitate Chloe ;)

And then they went walking on the ceiling in one of the Magicians rooms.

After all the magic we went for a stroll with our rather fetching 3D glasses into the Great Goblin Hunt.

Do NOT feed the fish!!!!

There are several oast roundels standing magestically in the grounds of the park.

This dear little fella is one of the 2 dinky little micro pigs that are new to the farm....I know its wicked, but I cannot tell you just HOW much I fancied a bacon sarnie after we left LOL...sorry, I couldn't help myself! They even went and hid in their little hut due to heat...I think I could hear them sizzling ;)

Both the girls had a ride round on the go karts, but it was such hard work in the heat.

We headed off into one of the Oast roundels and visited the Wax Work Museum....we thought that some of the figures were a bit pants, but I particularly loved this one of Prince.

I am not sure who the guy on the left is....anyone got any ideas? I thought Cliff Richard was good though.

On the way back to the car we popped back into the Magic factory and Chloe had a go a levitating her Dad....pretty good eh!
Then it was time to go home as I had a class to teach and Lauren was on her way back from Newquay :)

On Thursday we took our girlies out to Eastbourne Seafront to the fair and they had a brilliant time on the various rides.

We also met up with up my Sister and her little ones and the girls ventured off into the Fun House.

Whilst the boys did what boys do best....and drove off into the sunset in a biiiiig truck!

Lauren finished off on this hair raising ride....rather her than me! That's her on the middle arm, sat next to the empty chair.....

so that's a couple of days out of our week....and tomorrow I have our lovely monthly crop to look forwards to.....can't wait!
I hope you all have a super weekend.
Warmest wishes Anita..xxx

You Make Me Happy! Scrapology June Challenge and our First ever Blog Candy Hop!

Yay, its our very First Blog Candy Hop over at Scrapology!
You should have arrived here from the lovely Linda's blog , if not please return to the Scrapology blog to begin the hop and follow the trail between our DT members blogs.
To take part in the blog candy hop leave a comment, follow the blog, and then pop along to the next DT blog in the line, in this case off to the lovely Karen's blog and see the post called 'What a Hoot' to continue the trail.

This month we have lifted a sketch from a beautiful layout by Cindy Tobey

Here is my version and I have used various bits and and bobs I had in my stash, along with a few splats of paint and some lyrics, printed on transparency, from a song by Lenny Kravitz)

This is the original sketch that we worked from.

I used my triple butterly MS punch and the little doily MS punch and added some pearls and resin flowers. I also used some Glossy Accents on the toadstool and then cut some inch wide strips of paper and created a pleated border around the die cut edge at the base of the page.

The plastic doily is actually cut from some product packaging and was way to lovely to just throw away

I hope you are enjoying our first blog candy hop so far, so now you need to
pop along to Karen's blog and see what delight she has to share with you :)

Our thanks as always to Jill (Cardinal Colours) for providing our monthly scraplift prizes. Thanks this month also to Vanessa from Paper Maze for the blog Candy for this month's blog hop.

.... and we would LOVE to see you join in with the challenge and create a page from the sketch. You have plenty of time as the Challenge has four weeks till the deadline....so let's see what you can do :)
Warmest Wishes Anita..xxxx
